Congratulations on 15 years and a revamped website! Having enjoyed Frank and Nancy's hospitality for a few days in 1991 - I can seriously recommend it. Although I haven't had a chance to return since, the fact that we're still in touch some 13 years later surely speaks for itself!

My young daughter and I stayed with Nancy and Frank in July 2001. We immediately felt like we were part of the family. Their daughter Jenny took the time to braid my daughter Shelley's full head of curly hair (not a simple task) and Shelley enjoyed playing with their dog Misty. My daughter still talks about it. We look forward to visiting again this summer. What a wonderful place to return to!

I wish you all the best for this 15th year and further on !! Although I live in the Black Forest and a lot of people come here for holidays, I'am addicted to the North, its rural places and the special people you can meet there, especially Frank and Nancys place!! I dropped in there in 1997 on a backpacking trip through Canada /Alaska and got caught by this special hospitality of sharing their home and I like the ideas behind their Home Hostel! Instead of just staying a few days it got more. But this was the reason for some special experiences and meeting people which you just don't get staying a few days. Its always a experience to meet in the evening with a bunch of people to prepare and share dinner. And then of cause all these stories from their lifetime. The story when they hiked the appalachian and their daughter begged for wind, or this story from the two french hikers on the chilkoot looking for the bear...You have to hear it originally ! When you are on a trip passing by there....don't miss it and join in , have fun!

Best Place in Alaska or the Yukon! Having worked as a student on the Chilkoot Trail in 1997 and 1998 I enjoyed Nancy and Frank's welcoming home and food on several occasions. One of my life's nice memories to have been able to stay with them. Siobhan

As the Program Director for Outdoor Studies at UAS Juneau and main coordinator for the logistics of our advanced Ice Climbing Level II class, I was greatly relieved to find Nancy and Frank willing hosts to our 3 day curriculum held in Skagway, AK this past January. Our students and staff had a very pleasant experience at the Skagway Home Hostel and I candidly thank the managers for their tolerance of our wet equipment and boots! Any traveler to Skagway will do well to stay at the Home Hostel as it offers authentic Alaskan experience away from the cruise ship madness.

This hostel was fantastic.  Frank and Nancy are wonderful, the house is cozy, and there's a general positive feel.  It's also close to everything (like much in Skagway!) and easy to go in and out of.  I would highly recommend it!
